Introduction to Common rail Injection System

Introduction to Common rail Injection System

It is transported by a fuel pump to a common, large volume distribution pipe rail, where the high-pressure oil is accumulated and then transported to the fuel injectors through the high-pressure pipe. This means that multiple fuel injectors are connected in parallel to the common rail. On the public fuel rail, oil pressure sensors, pressure limiting valves, and flow limiters are installed. Due to the precise control of the fuel pressure inside the fuel rail by the microcomputer, the fluctuation of the fuel supply pressure in the fuel system due to changes in diesel engine speed is significantly reduced (this is a major drawback of traditional diesel engines), and the amount of fuel injected only depends on the duration of the solenoid valve opening time of the fuel injector.

Features:

① Completely separate the generation of fuel pressure from the injection process, and the establishment of fuel pressure is independent of the injection process. After the fuel is sprayed out from the fuel injector, the oil pressure in the fuel rail remains almost unchanged;

② The fuel pressure, injection process, and injection duration are controlled by a microcomputer and are not affected by the load and speed of the diesel engine;

③ The fuel injection timing and fuel injection metering are controlled separately, allowing for free adjustment of the fuel injection quantity and starting angle for each cylinder.
